In a major breakthrough, the Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of 98 individuals involved in various crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, and drug trafficking. The arrests were made between September 17 and September 24, 2024, with the police recovering 10 firearms, 41 rounds of live ammunition, and other incriminating items.

 Notable Arrests

 Cultism and Drug Trafficking

The police also made several arrests linked to cultism, including the recovery of a Beretta pistol and 24 live cartridges in Ikorodu. Additionally, three individuals were arrested for selling over 350 firearms under the guise of a logistics company.

Police Commitment

Commissioner of Police, CP Ishola Olanrewaju, reiterated his commitment to reducing crime in Lagos State, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the police and the public. “Security is everyone’s business. We urge you all to give us your unalloyed support and say something when you see something.”

This recent crackdown is not an isolated incident; the Lagos State Police Command has been actively working to reduce crime in the state. Earlier this year, they arrested 654 suspects for various crimes ¹. The police will continue to investigate and prosecute the arrested suspects.

Stay Safe, Lagos

Remember, security is a collective responsibility. If you have any information or witness suspicious activities, report to the police immediately. Together, we can create a safer Lagos for all.
