APPFLON Seeks EFCC Alliance to Tackle Fraud in Logistics Sector.
In a bid to stem the tide of fraudulent practices in Nigeria’s blue and green economies, the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APPFLON) has sought a collaborative partnership with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
APPFLON President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, made the call during a courtesy visit to the EFCC’s Lagos Directorate on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Ogunojemite praised the EFCC’s efforts to combat corruption and economic crimes, describing the visit as a “significant milestone” for the association.
The proposed partnership aims to strengthen the fight against corruption and promote ethical practices in the logistics and freight forwarding sector. EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Director, Michael T. Wetkas, expressed the commission’s willingness to partner with APPFLON to achieve this goal.
The collaboration is seen as a significant step towards promoting integrity and transparency in Nigeria’s logistics industry, and a major blow to fraudulent activities that have long plagued the sector.
