Nasarawa Police Nab Woman for Hiding 124 Round Ammunition in Palm Oil Container

Several Arrests Made in Nasarawa State as Police Uncover Ammunition Smuggling Operation.

Nasarawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of a woman, Hauwa Sani, for allegedly concealing 124 rounds of anti-craft ammunition in a gallon of palm oil. The suspect was apprehended on Friday by operatives attached to the Keffi Division, who were acting on credible information.

According to a statement released by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, the suspect was also found with a cash sum of N78,500 and a mobile phone. The ammunition was allegedly being smuggled to Katsina state.

The Commissioner of Police, Shehu Nadada, has ordered the transfer of the suspect and exhibit to the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters in Abuja for further investigation.

Preliminary findings suggest that the suspect received the ammunition at Rafin sanyi village of Doma Local government area of Nasarawa state, and concealed the items in a gallon of palm oil before attempting to transport them to Katsina state.

The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of the Nasarawa State Police Command to combat arms smuggling and related crimes in the region. Further investigation is expected to uncover more details about the smuggling operation and potential accomplices.
