The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to combating pension fraud, pledging to leave no stone unturned in tackling the menace. This assurance was given by the Uyo Zonal Director, ACE 1 Oshodi Johnson, during a courtesy visit by executives of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Akwa Ibom State Chapter.

Johnson emphasized the need to protect senior citizens who have served the nation, promising to invoke all necessary laws to bring perpetrators of pension fraud to justice. He assured the pensioners that the EFCC is ready to respond promptly to any complaints of pension scams or fraud.

The State Secretary of the Union, Obong Cosmos M. Essien, commended the EFCC for its sustained fight against pension-related frauds, acknowledging the agency’s efforts to transform the country. The Chairman of the Union, Obong Ekpeyong Daniel Ekpo, charged the EFCC staff to continue tackling economic and financial crimes, stressing that hard work will be rewarded.
