Birth and Parentage:

Dr. Valentine Ntui, who is approaching quinquagenarian, was born on Saturday, February 14th, after the birth of Christ, Anno Domini (AD). He is a dedicated scholar and educator with a remarkable journey spanning education, leadership, and community service. Born in Nsan Okim-Isughe in Awi Ward of Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria, Dr. Ntui’s early life was marked by a strong educational foundation instilled by his parents – Ntufam, Sir Joseph Etta Ntui, and the Late Mrs. Felicia Joseph Etta Ntui of Akamkpa Town.

Early Education and Academic Pursuits

Dr. Ntui began his formal education at Government Primary School Nsan in 1976, where he completed his primary education and earned his First School Leaving Certificate in 1983. He continued his academic journey at Community Secondary School Netim in Akamkpa, emerging as the best graduating student in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in the State in 1991. His impressive academic performance watered his pursuit for higher education.

Dr. Ntui enrolled in the Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) program at the College of Education Akamkpa, where he excelled and subsequently gained admission into the University of Calabar There, he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy in 1998. His overwhelming enthusiasm to serve his father’s land came to actualization through the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), which he took part in Ekiti State from 1999 to 2000.

Advanced Degrees and Professional Development

Dr. Ntui’s passion for education propelled him to further his studies. He obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the University of Calabar in 2005. His academic journey did not stop there; he pursued a Master’s degree (M.Ed) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Philosophy of Education from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria, graduating in 2008 and 2014, respectively.

Career and Contributions

Dr. Ntui, began his teaching career during his NYSC in Ekiti State, which laid the foundation for his subsequent roles. In 2000, he joined the Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa, where he continued to serve. His academic contributions extend to the University of Ibadan, where he has taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students and as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Cross River State.

Dr. Ntui’s leadership and community service are extensive. His roles include but are not limited to the following:

– Assistant Secretary, Ochime Abone Nsan Development Association (2001-2005), an elites Association.

Dr. Ntui’s professional affiliations include the Philosophy of Education Society of Australasia (PESA), International Mentoring Association (IMA), and Philosophers of Education Association of Nigeria (PEAN) to mention but a few. He is also a registered teacher with the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He has attended several local and international conferences and published widely in well researched professional journals. His numerous scholarly researches, are not just readable but engrossing and packed with philosophical vignettes that are both erudite and fascinating. His researches over the years is focused on Education for Character and Learning, Philosophical Jurisprudence, Quality of Teaching and Learning, Mentoring, Issues, Language, and Logic of Education, and so on under the broad theme of Philosophy of Education.

 Christian Life:

Dr. Ntui is an ardent Christian with the Great Faith Tabernacle Ministry (a.k.a City of Habitation), Calabar, Cross River State, where he worships God in spirit and in truth. A Ministry, which has been a great source of power, spiritual coverage in his endeavours. He is a strong member of the Men’s Fellowship, Evangelical group and has successfully served in many Committees.

 Personal Life

Dr. Valentine Ntui is happily married to Rajuno Valentine Ntui, and together, they have beautiful children. He is proficient in his mother’s tongue, Ejagham, Efik, Ibibio, and English languages, demonstrating excellent oral and written communication skills. His ability to maintain physical, social, emotional, and psychological stability has enabled him to manage and excel in various professional and community roles.
