Junior Defence Minister Matawalle, Military Chiefs Relocate to Sokoto to Address Worsening Insecurity
NIGERIA DECLARES WAR ON TERROR: DEFENCE MINISTER, MILITARY CHIEFS DEPLOY TO SOKOTO.
In a bold move to combat the escalating threats of banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism in North-West Nigeria, the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has ordered the Chief of Defence Staff and other high-ranking military chiefs to relocate to Sokoto State.
GOVERNMENT VOWS TO RESTORE PEACE AND SECURITY
The directive is part of an intensified effort to rid the North-West region of the menace of banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism. The government has expressed sadness over the activities of terrorists and bandits in the states and its environs, underscoring its unwavering commitment to restoring peace and security in the region.
NOTORIOUS TERRORIST BELLO TURJI IN THE CROSSHAIRS
While in the North-West, the defence minister and military chiefs will supervise operations aimed at flushing out notorious terrorist Bello Turji and his gang of bandits. The move comes amid widespread outrage sparked by a viral video showing bandits rejoicing over the capture of a Nigerian military armoured vehicle.
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DEPLOYS FULL FORCE
The Federal Government has assured that it is deeply concerned about the persistent threat posed by banditry and terrorism in the North-West and is ready to deploy all necessary assets to ensure that these criminal elements are flushed out and peace is restored to communities.
DEFENCE MINISTER ASSURES OF VICTORY
Matawalle has assured the people of Sokoto, Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi states, and the entire North-West region that the security forces will not leave any stone unturned until they flush out the bandits. He vowed to lead the charge, saying, “I will be on the ground in the North-West with the CDS and other military chiefs, leading our brave men and women in uniform.
