Leave Now or Die: Bandits Issue Deadly Warning to Minna Estate Residents
Bandits Wreak Havoc in Minna Estate, Threaten Residents with Death.
In a brazen display of lawlessness, suspected bandits invaded M.I Wushishi Estate in Minna, Niger State, leaving a trail of destruction and terrorizing residents. The attackers, believed to be illegal miners, smashed car windows and threatened to kill anyone who refused to vacate the premises.
According to eyewitnesses, the bandits struck during the daytime, taking advantage of the absence of male residents who were at work. The attack is believed to be a retaliatory measure after residents reported the illegal mining activities to the authorities.
A resident, who wished to remain anonymous, described the chaos: “Hoodlums, suspected to be miners, invaded our community, breaking windows and damaging cars. They warned us to leave or face the consequences.”
The estate, home to several top civil servants, including directors and permanent secretaries, has been left in a state of panic. Many residents have fled in fear, highlighting the escalating insecurity in Niger State.
While the Niger State Police Command has confirmed the attack, spokesman Wasiu Abiodun assured that peace has been restored to the estate. However, residents remain skeptical, questioning the government’s ability to protect them from the rising tide of banditry and terrorism.
