EFCC Arrests 44 Suspects in Kwara Over Alleged Internet Fraud
EFCC Cracks Down on Internet Fraudsters, Arrests 44 in Kwara State.
In a sweeping operation, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 44 suspected internet fraudsters in Ilorin, Kwara State. They suspects were apprehended on Friday, September 6, 2024, at various locations, including Sango, Kulende, Taxaco, and Harmony Estate, following a tip-off about their alleged involvement in online scams.
The EFCC’s Ilorin Zonal Directorate led the operation, which resulted in the seizure of several high-end items, including six exotic cars, laptops, smartphones, and charms. The suspects are currently being held and will face charges in court once investigations are complete.
This latest crackdown on internet fraudsters is part of the EFCC’s ongoing efforts to combat cybercrime and protect Nigerians from online scams. The agency has been actively working to disrupt and dismantle fraudulent networks, and this operation is a significant step in that direction.
