APC Launches Progressive Young Farmers Network, Empowering Nigeria’s Youth in Agriculture.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated the Progressive Young Farmers Network, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering Nigerian youth in agriculture. The launch took place at the 2024 Progressive Young Leaders Summit, which drew over 6,000 youths from across the country.
Ministers, Ambassadors, and Youth Leaders Attend Inauguration
The inauguration was attended by notable figures, including Ministers Abdullahi Sabi Aliyu, Uba Maigari Ahmadu, Hannatu Musawa, and Prince Shuaibu Audu. Ambassadors and Consul Generals from Zimbabwe, Bulgaria, Israel, Burundi, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Mexico, and China also graced the occasion, alongside zonal and state youth leaders.
APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel Speaks
Dayo Israel, APC National Youth Leader, expressed pride in conceiving the initiative, which aims to nurture the next generation of agribusiness professionals. He thanked partners, participants, and stakeholders for their contributions, emphasizing the party’s commitment to amplifying youth voices in national discourse.
Summit Impact and Future Plans
Israel assessed the summit’s impact, noting that it generated concrete solutions to Nigeria’s pressing challenges. He highlighted the critical role youth will play in national development across sectors. The APC National Youth Leader also announced a 2-day training session on agribusiness and sustainable agricultural practices, scheduled for Lagos, in collaboration with Galaxy Inter Link and the Progressive Young Farmers Network.
Training Program Details
The training program, slated for September 10-11, 2024, aims to equip young farmers with skills and knowledge in water harvesting, integrated farming systems, and modern farming techniques. Participants will receive hands-on experience and insights in these areas, with a focus on sustainability and environmental stewardship. Each participant will receive N50,000.
