Ogun Police Arrest Three Suspects in Connection with Kidnapping and Murder of Teenage Cattle Herder

Teenage Cattle Herder Brutally Murdered by Kidnappers in Ogun Despite Ransom Payment.

A heartbreaking incident has unfolded in Ogun State, where a 15-year-old cattle rearer, Yahu Muhammad, was kidnapped and murdered by a gang of kidnappers in the Imala axis. Despite receiving a ransom payment of N500,000, the kidnappers callously took the life of the young boy.

According to a statement released by the So-Safe Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, three suspects have been arrested and handed over to the Imala Divisional Police Headquarters in connection with the heinous crime. The suspects, identified as Umar Muhammad, 24, Audu Muhammad, 22, and Umar Danda, 22, are currently in custody.

The kidnapping occurred on Saturday, September 7, 2024, and was reported to the Imala Division of the Corps at around 7 pm. A Special Squad was deployed to rescue the victim, but tragically, they arrived to find the lifeless body of Yahu Muhammad at the kidnappers’ den.

The cattle, left unattended in the forest, were discovered wandering without a herder. The victim’s body was evacuated and handed over to the Imala Police Division, along with the suspects, for further investigation and potential prosecution.

This senseless murder has raised concerns about the safety and security of young people in the region and the need for swift justice to be served.
