Kidnapping Suspects Nabbed in Obinze and Beyond, Police Reveal [Photos]
Police Crack Down on Kidnappers in Imo State, Arrest 6 Suspects.
In a major breakthrough, the Nigeria Police Force has arrested six suspects linked to kidnappings in Obinze, Avu, and Ihiagwa areas of Imo State. The arrests are part of the police’s efforts to boost national security and fortify the safety of citizens.
According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspects were arrested on August 21, 2024, in Avu, Imo State. They were identified as Umaru Usman, Tukur Yau, Musbau Sabo, Abdul Ibrahim, Jubrin Idris, and Nwauba Alex.
The police also rescued a kidnapped victim and recovered a locally made pistol, two rounds of live ammunition, and torchlights from one of the suspects.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has reaffirmed the police’s commitment to combating kidnapping and other heinous crimes. The police have emplaced proactive and reactive measures to tackle these crimes and ensure the safety of citizens.
This development is a significant milestone in the fight against kidnapping in Imo State, and the police have vowed to remain relentless in their efforts to combat these crimes.
