Daring Escape: Suspect Flees as Katsina Security Outfit Seizes 610 Rounds of Ammunition

Katsina Security Outfit Seizes Cache of Ammunition, Suspect Slips Away.

In a significant breakthrough, the Katsina State Community Watch Corps intercepted a commercial vehicle carrying a large quantity of ammunition in Batsari town on Tuesday evening.

Acting on a tip-off, corps members stopped the vehicle with registration number BTR 45 XA around 7:30 PM and discovered 610 rounds of ammunition, including AK-47 and GPMG rounds, hidden under a seat. Two magazines were also recovered.

A suspect, described as a man in white robes, was observed exhibiting suspicious behavior throughout the journey but managed to evade capture during the inspection.

The Katsina State government has commended the Community Watch Corps for their vigilance and dedication to maintaining peace and security in the state.

Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, praised the corps’ efforts, assuring that the government would continue to support and enhance the capabilities of security agencies to combat crime effectively.

The seizure is a significant milestone in the fight against insecurity in the region, and authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
