Federal Government Launches CGS Grant Scheme to Boost Micro Businesses.

The Federal Government, in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), has introduced the Conditional Grant Scheme (CGS) to support micro businesses and encourage job creation. This initiative provides a N50,000 grant to qualified micro enterprises, conditional on employing at least one person.

 Eligibility Criteria

The CGS program is specifically designed for nano businesses operating at the Local Government Area (LGA) level. To qualify, businesses must meet the following conditions:

Business Size: Nano businesses with minimal operations
Location: Operating within LGAs
Employment: Willingness to employ at least one person

Successful applicants will receive:

Financial Assistance: N50,000 grant to support business growth
Workforce Support: Funding to procure equipment and expand operations
