Outrage in Taraba Community Over Brutal Abuse of 8-Year-Old Boy.
Residents of Wukari Local Government Area in Taraba State are demanding justice for Julius Chinecherim, an 8-year-old boy who suffered gruesome injuries at the hands of his step-grandmother, Ngizi Onwuasoalya. The woman allegedly burned the boy’s lips with firewood as punishment for misplacing N500.
The incident has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for action from child protection agencies and the state government. Community leaders and residents have expressed relief that the authorities have taken swift action, arresting Onwuasoalya and providing medical attention to the victim at the Federal University Teaching Hospital in Wukari.
LG Chairman Samaila Dauda confirmed the incident and assured that the woman will be charged to court soon. The community continues to seek justice for Julius, emphasizing the need for harsher penalties against child abusers.
