Kano Airport Bust: Traveler Excretes 76 Wraps of Cocaine Bound for Iran [Photos]

NDLEA Foils Cocaine Smuggling Attempt at Kano Airport, Arrests Alleged Drug Mule.

A 38-year-old alleged drug mule, Okafor Ifeanyi Anthony, was apprehended by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) operatives at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) in Kano State. Anthony attempted to board a Qatar Airlines flight to Iran via Doha with 76 wraps of cocaine concealed in his stomach on September 15.

Following three days of observation, Anthony excreted the 76 pellets of cocaine, weighing 1.267kg. This significant bust is part of NDLEA’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria.

Recent NDLEA Busts

Kogi State: NDLEA officers seized 700,000 pills of exol-5 from Lagos, destined for distribution in Kano and Kaduna, along the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway on September 17.
Niger State: Operatives arrested 23-year-old Udemefuna Chibuike on September 20, confiscating 49,000 tablets of tramadol, 20,000 tablets of diazepam, 100 ampoules of tramadol injection, and 50 bottles of cough syrup with codeine along the Mokwa-Jebba road.

These successful operations demonstrate NDLEA’s commitment to disrupting drug trafficking networks and ensuring public safety.
