President Tinubu Congratulates APC's Okpebholo on Edo Election Win

President Bola Tinubu Congratulates Edo Governor-Elect Senator Monday Okpebholo.

President Bola Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, on his decisive victory in the Edo State governorship election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Okpebholo the winner on Sunday.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised APC national leaders, Edo State leaders, and party governors for their tireless efforts in securing the win. He described the victory as a resounding endorsement of the APC’s progressive ideals, economic reform agenda, and commitment to improving Nigerians’ lives.

Key Highlights of President Tinubu’s Statement:

Call to Service: President Tinubu urged Okpebholo to view his victory as a challenging call to service, rather than a reason to gloat.
Unity and Magnanimity: He encouraged Okpebholo to reach out to his political rivals and unite the people of Edo State for the state’s development.
Commendation for Peaceful Election: President Tinubu praised other candidates for their contributions to advancing Nigeria’s democracy and commended the people of Edo State for their orderly and peaceful conduct during the election.
INEC and Security Agencies: He commended INEC and security agencies for conducting a successful, peaceful, and largely hitch-free exercise.

President Tinubu also urged those aggrieved by the election outcome to seek redress through legal channels, promoting a peaceful resolution to any disputes.
