Offa Bank Robbers Sentenced to Death.
In a landmark judgment delivered today, September 26, Justice Haleemah Salman of the Kwara State High Court has sentenced five men involved in the infamous Offa bank robbery to death. The convicted robbers, Ayoade Akinnibosun, Azeez Salahudeen, Niyi Ogundiran, Ibikunle Ogunleye, and Adeola Abraham, were found guilty of illegal possession of firearms, armed robbery, and culpable homicide.
The bloody robbery, which occurred on April 5, 2018, claimed the lives of 30 individuals, including nine policemen. The suspects had stormed five commercial banks in Offa, using dynamite and wreaking havoc on the community.
