Court Orders Remand of Man, Two Others for Kidnapping Minor Cousin [Photos]
A devastating story unfolding in Kano, Nigeria, where three youths – Hizbullah Salisu, Aliyu Abubakar, and Hassan Aliyu – have been remanded in a correctional center for kidnapping a 4-year-old boy, Muhammad Nasir. The most heart-wrenching part? Salisu, the mastermind, is the victim’s cousin.
The trio allegedly demanded a whopping N10 million ransom, but eventually settled for N300,000 after negotiations. However, their luck ran out when the police tracked and arrested them on September 7, 2024.
Charged with conspiracy, criminal offense, and kidnapping, the accused pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Rakiya Lami Sani ordered their remand until October 30 for re-arraignment.
This case echoes a similar incident in Akure, where an 18-year-old was remanded for kidnapping. It’s crucial for authorities to tackle these crimes and ensure justice is served.
Case Details:
– Accused: Hizbullah Salisu, Aliyu Abubakar, Hassan Aliyu
– Victim: Muhammad Nasir (4-year-old cousin of Salisu)
– Ransom: N10 million (initial demand), N300,000 (paid after negotiation)
– Arrest: September 7, 2024
