Banditry Sponsorship: FG Launches Investigation – Defence Headquarters

DHQ Confirms Probe into Alleged Bandit Sponsors.

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has launched an investigation into allegations of bandit sponsorship in Nigeria’s North-West region. This development comes amid a heated exchange between Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle and Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal over sponsorship accusations.

According to DHQ’s Director of Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, relevant agencies are working diligently to uncover the truth behind these allegations. Buba assured that announcements would be made soon regarding the investigation’s progress.

The military remains committed to defeating banditry by breaking the criminals’ will to fight. As Buba emphasized, “Winning a war is destroying the enemy’s will to fight.” The military has already made significant strides in this effort, neutralizing 65 notable terrorist leaders and commanders between July and September.

– 1,937 terrorists killed
– 2,782 suspected terrorists and criminals arrested
– 1,854 kidnapped hostages rescued
– 1,304 weapons recovered
– 43,347 rounds of ammunition seized.
