Troops Capture 8 Boko Haram Fighters, 2 High-Profile Female Informants in Taraba [Photos]
Troops Foil Boko Haram Plot in Taraba, Arrest 8 Terrorists and 2 High-Profile Kidnap Informants.
In a daring intelligence-driven operation, Nigerian Army troops have dealt a significant blow to Boko Haram and kidnapping syndicates in Taraba State, arresting 10 key suspects. The successful raids, conducted by troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/ Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have bolstered security in the region.
Boko Haram Cell Disrupted
On September 29, 2024, troops raided the residence of terrorist leader Tukura Abdul-Kareem in Ardo-Kola Local Government Area, apprehending Abdul-Kareem and seven accomplices. The suspects, from various states, intended to establish a sleeper cell in Taraba, planning Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks on innocent civilians and critical infrastructure. Abdul-Kareem confessed to being a long-time Boko Haram member.

Kidnap Informants Apprehended
In a separate operation on September 30, 2024, troops arrested two informants linked to a high-profile kidnap syndicate in Chachanji village, Takum LGA. These individuals provided vital information to kidnappers, aiding a notorious criminal and identifying businessmen for robbery or kidnapping.
