In a bold move to safeguard public health, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) launched a surprise raid on Abuja supermarkets and open shops, confiscating counterfeit cosmetics valued at N37 million. This operation, carried out on September 30, targeted unregistered and fake products flooding the capital’s markets.

– Seized Items: Unregistered and counterfeit cosmetics worth N37 million

According to NAFDAC, the raid was prompted by intelligence reports from its Investigation and Enforcement Directorate. Confiscated items will be destroyed in accordance with NAFDAC’s regulations to ensure public safety.
