FCT POLICE CRACK DOWN ON CAR THEFT: Recover Stolen Toyota Corolla, Apprehend Suspect.
In a significant breakthrough, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully recovered a Toyota Corolla stolen at gunpoint on May 2nd along Kuje-airport road. The vehicle, with registration number ABC 258 LD, was tracked down and retrieved on Saturday, August 17.
According to a statement issued by FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspected armed robber, Micheal Uke, was arrested at Ifego Guest Inn in the Jabi area of Abuja. The suspect had attempted to conceal the vehicle’s identity by replacing its registration number with AGD 146 JP.
A thorough search of the suspect’s possession yielded incriminating evidence, including a POS machine, a knife, glass dissolving chemicals, a military jungle hat, and the original registration number of the vehicle.
This remarkable recovery and arrest underscore the FCT Police Command’s unwavering commitment to combating car theft and ensuring public safety in the nation’s capital.
