SENATE MOURNS: Akpabio Leads Delegation to Offer Condolences to Senator Ubah's Bereaved Family

SENATE PRESIDENT AKPABIO LEADS DELEGATION TO CONDOLE UBAH’S FAMILY.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio led a delegation of senators to pay their respects to the family of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who passed away in the UK. Akpabio, visibly shaken by the news, described Ubah as “one of the pillars of the 10th Senate” and apologized for not reaching out to the family immediately due to his devastation.

During the condolence visit to Ubah’s widow, Uchenna, and their children in Lagos, Akpabio shared his initial reaction to the news, saying he was “jolted” and “emotionally shaken.” He encouraged Ubah’s children to honor their father’s memory and assured the family of the Senate’s support in giving him a befitting burial.

The delegation included Senators Osita Ngwu, Saliu Mustapha, Sunday Karimi, and Adetokunbo Abiru. Prince Chidi Orizu, speaking on behalf of the family, thanked Akpabio and the senators for their visit and promised to keep them informed of the burial arrangements.

Akpabio’s remarks highlighted the close relationship between the senators and their deep sense of loss, as they come to terms with the tragic passing of their colleague.
