As the newly appointed head of this critical section, AIG Olarewaju Yomi Oladimeji psc(+) is poised to drive change and excellence. Reporting directly to the Inspector-General of Police, Oladimeji’s role as Force Secretary comes with a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Force Communication
- The general supervision and co-ordination of the activities and the drawing up of policy matters for the force.
- Appointment to senior police officer rank in the force
- Promotion of senior police officers
- Posting and deployment of senior police officers
- Discipline of senior police officers (vi) Processing of matters of retirements and certificate of service of senior police officers
- Custody of personal records and files of senior police officers
- Implementation of policies and decisions of police council meetings as directed by Inspector General of Police
- Liaison with police Affairs Department on department on matters affecting senior police officers
- Career planning for senior police officers
- General inter-ministerial matters affecting senior police officers
- Approval of leave of senior police officers in the office of the Force Secretary; and (xiv) Any other assignment assigned

As the Force Secretary, Oladimeji plays a vital role in shaping the Nigeria Police Force’s operations, policies, and personnel management. His office serves as the nerve center for strategic decision-making, ensuring the effective functioning of the Force.
