Boko Haram Butchers 87 in Yobe, Survivors Reveal Brutal Details of Massacre Near Shekau's Hideout

Survivors Recount Horror as Boko Haram Massacre Claims 87 Lives in Yobe.

Mafa, a village in Yobe State, witnessed a gruesome attack by Boko Haram terrorists last Sunday, leaving 87 worshippers dead and many more injured. The attack occurred at a mosque during Asir prayers, with the insurgents separating the elderly and herdsmen from the congregation before opening fire.

According to sources, the attack was a revenge mission by Boko Haram after security operatives and local vigilantes raided one of their hideouts, killing a commander and other members.

Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana led a delegation to Babbangida, the local government headquarters, to witness the burial of 34 victims and donate N30 million to affected families.

Survivors described their narrow escape from death, with one recounting how he saw the insurgents waiting outside the mosque and ran away. Another survivor, Mallam Ali Isiaka, lost his son in the attack but thanked Allah for sparing his life.

The community is calling for increased security presence, citing fears of another attack. Security operatives have been accused of neglecting the community, despite claims of degrading terrorists in the area.

The attack has been condemned by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Northern Governors’ Forum, and military authorities, who have promised to deploy more soldiers to Yobe to counter renewed Boko Haram attacks.
