Boko Haram Terrorist Surrenders to Nigerian Troops
Boko Haram Commander Surrenders: Hands Over AK-47, Ammunition to Troops.
In a significant breakthrough, notorious Boko Haram terrorist Bochu Abacha has surrendered to multinational forces in Borno State, dealing a blow to the insurgent group.
According to Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osaba, Chief Military Information Officer of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Abacha turned himself in to troops deployed in Kukawa Local Government. The former terrorist leader admitted to participating in multiple operations along the Mongunu-Baga axis.
Abacha attributed his surrender to the relentless operations of the MNJTF and his dwindling interest in the cause. Upon surrender, he handed over:
– One AK-47 Rifle
– Magazine loaded with 11 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition
– Mobile phone
– Airtel SIM card
– N32,500
The surrendered terrorist is currently providing valuable intelligence to authorities.
In a separate operation, MNJTF troops ambushed Boko Haram logistics suppliers, killing one terrorist and recovering:
– Three Toyota vehicles loaded with foodstuffs and sundry items
– N2,000
This dual success highlights the effectiveness of the MNJTF’s counter-insurgency efforts and demonstrates the growing willingness of former terrorists to abandon their cause.
