CAS to NDA Cadets: Brace Up for Security Challenges, Defend Nation [Photos]
Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, Chief of the Air Staff, has urged graduating cadets of the Nigerian Defence Academy to prepare for the daunting task of addressing the country’s pressing security challenges. At the NDA’s 2024 Beating of the Retreat and Prize Giving Ceremony, he emphasized the need for bravery, mastery of modern warfare tools, and unwavering dedication to protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity ¹.
Abubakar reminded the cadets of 71 Regular Course and Direct Short Service Course 28 Army and 32 Air Force that their training and academic foundation have equipped them to excel in their roles. He stressed the importance of prioritizing the nation’s interests, stating, “As you prepare to be commissioned as officers, remember that the hopes and aspirations of our country rest on your shoulders.”
The Air Marshal also commended the NDA’s Commandant and staff for upholding the Beating of the Retreat tradition, which marks the end of the training year. He congratulated award-winning cadets and battalions, encouraging them to strive for excellence.
