Church Cleric Kill, One Other, 8 Abducted in Bandit Attack on Kaduna Community
Kaduna State Witnessed Dual Tragedies as Bandits Unleashed Terror.
On the night of August 11, 2024, bandits launched a deadly assault on Pastor Peter Shebayan’s mission station in Katul Crossing, Fadan Kamantra, within the Zangon Kataf Local Government Area. The attack resulted in the tragic loss of Pastor Shebayan and another individual, with eight residents being taken hostage.
In a separate incident, bandits struck the Ruruma community in Kwassam, Kauru Local Government Area, claiming the life of Dr. Ishaya and abducting eight others. The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday, August 12. The kidnapped victims have been identified as Dan’iya Barau, Bitrust Dan’iya, Esther Magada, Buba Mu’azu Tanko, Philip, Joshua Cyrus, Bege Ezekiel, and Joffrey Ezekiel. One of the victims managed to escape and return home.
The bandits made off with several stolen items, including six motorcycles and 25 liters of fuel. Despite efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Hassan, for confirmation, no official statement has been released.
