 Suspects and Items Recovered

Two of the suspects, Suleiman Ibrahim (17) and Abubakar Zakari (22), both from Kano State, were caught with iron poles near Wuse Market Bridge. The duo had allegedly vandalized the iron poles at the Arts and Culture Complex in Area 10, Garki.

Three additional suspects – Aliyu Danladi (37) from Kano State, Jamilu Abdulrahaman (25) from Zamfara State, and Usman Ibrahim (38) from Sokoto State – were arrested around Durumi 2, Pantaker market, while attempting to sell stolen and vandalized items.

Recovered items include:

– Three electronic billboards
– Two solar batteries
– One gas cylinder
– One generator set
– One refrigerator gas cylinder
– One iron hammer
– Other various tools and equipment

Investigation and Regulation

The arrested vandals are undergoing interrogation to uncover the buyers of the vandalized infrastructure. NSCDC’s FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, has called for the regulation of pantaker markets in the FCT, citing their notorious reputation for selling stolen and vandalized goods.

“This is a significant step towards combating vandalism and protecting national assets,” said Odumosu. “We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of our community.
