In a daring operation, the Anambra State Police Command has neutralized a gunman in the Aguata Local Government Area, dealing a significant blow to crime in the region. The police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Monday, September 30, 2024.

The Operation

On September 29, 2024, at 11:30 pm, police received a tip about suspected armed men in a black Pardo Jeep along the Igbo Ukwu/Ezinifite Uga axis. Swiftly responding, the Police-led Security Force engaged the armed men in a gun battle, neutralizing one and forcing others to flee.

– Two AK 47 rifles
– One pump action gun
– Two magazines loaded with live ammunition
– Fifteen live cartridges
– One black Pardo jeep with two different plate numbers
– Two Police body Armored Vests
– Three face caps
– One black handbag
– Various criminal charms
