Gunmen Kill Aid Worker in Benue
In a brazen attack, unidentified gunmen stormed the office of Concerned Youth Development Initiative in Logo, Makurdi, Benue State, killing Executive Director Chris Terfa-Ikpu on Friday, August 9.
Terfa-Ikpu, who had recently returned to the state after a period away, was shot dead by the assailants who forced their way into his office. The gunmen also shot the security guard on duty before targeting the humanitarian worker.
According to sources, the attackers inquired about Terfa-Ikpu’s whereabouts before being led to his office by one of his employees. Family members rushed the victim to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body has been deposited at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital morgue.
The motive behind the killing is still unknown, but the incident has sent shockwaves through the community. Stanley Chimin, a close associate of the deceased, confirmed that Terfa-Ikpu had been away from the state for a while before his tragic return.”
