IGP Makes Surprise Inspection of Police Training School, 5PMF Base in Benin

IGP Embarks on Surprise Inspection of Police Training Facilities in Benin.

In a bid to ensure that police training across the country meets the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and service, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, made an unscheduled visit to the Police Training School and the Police Mobile Force (PMF) 5 in Benin City, Edo State, on September 12, 2024.

Accompanied by top police officials, including the AIG zone 5, Benin, and the CP Edo State, the IGP inspected various facilities, including recruits’ dormitories, classrooms, and the kitchen. He also took a keen interest in the welfare of the 492 recruits currently undergoing training.

During his address to the recruits, the IGP emphasized the importance of discipline, professionalism, and dedication to duty. He charged them to respect human rights and remain focused, as these traits are crucial for successful policing and maintaining public trust.

The IGP announced plans to conduct similar unscheduled visits to other police training schools nationwide to ensure alignment with the Force’s core values. This move is part of his commitment to reforming and improving police training and operations to meet modern policing challenges.

The surprise visit underscores the IGP’s dedication to ensuring that police training is rigorous, effective, and aligned with the highest standards of professionalism and discipline.
