Iran Threatens Devastating Response if Israel Retaliates Against Missile Strikes
Iran Issues Stern Warning to Israel: Retaliation Will Bring “Crushing Attacks”.
In a bold and provocative move, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has threatened to unleash “crushing attacks” on Israel if it dares to retaliate for the recent missile strike launched by Tehran. This warning was delivered via the Fars news agency, with the IRGC stating that any response from Israel would be met with overwhelming force.
Missile Strike and International Reaction
On Tuesday evening, Iranian forces fired approximately 180 ballistic missiles at Israel’s commercial hub, Tel Aviv, in what marks the second direct attack on Israel by Iran in six months. The United States had previously warned of an imminent Iranian ballistic missile assault on Israel, cautioning that such actions would have “severe” consequences for Tehran.
Escalating Tensions
This latest escalation follows an Israeli strike that killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and General Abbas Nilforoushan, a top commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has accused Israel of warmongering, claiming Iran had exercised restraint following the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in July.
Regional Implications
The Iranian regime’s support for Palestinian groups, particularly Hamas, has long been a point of contention. With Iran-aligned groups in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen joining the fray, concerns of a broader regional conflict are mounting. The international community remains on high alert, urging restraint and diplomacy to prevent further escalation.
