Lagos Street Turns Bloody as 20-Year-Old Son Shoots Father
Police Launch Investigation into Brutal Murder of 20-Year-Old in Lagos.
A chilling incident has unfolded in the Okokomaiko area of Lagos State, where a 20-year-old man was accosted and fatally shot by a group of unidentified gunmen. The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the heinous crime, which occurred on Abeokuta Street, Okokomaiko, in the Ojo area of the state.
According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, police received a distress call from concerned members of the public around 9:30 pm, reporting that four gunmen were seen chasing the deceased and firing multiple shots at his head, stomach, and legs before fleeing the scene.
Upon arrival, police found the victim’s mother, Ms. Vivian, who identified the deceased as her 20-year-old son. The young man, whose name has been withheld for security reasons, had sustained multiple fatal gunshot wounds.
Hundeyin assured that the police are working tirelessly to trace and arrest the suspects, with efforts intensified to track down the fleeing gunmen. The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Infectious Disease Hospital Mortuary in Yaba, Lagos, for further examination.
The police spokesperson vowed that every resource would be utilized to bring the culprits to justice, stating, “This act of violence will not go unpunished.” The investigation is ongoing, and the public is urged to cooperate with the police to ensure that justice is served.
