In a significant blow to terrorism, Nigerian Army troops have eliminated eight notorious terrorist fighters and recovered a substantial cache of firearms in the North East region. Key Operations Highlights
– Borno State Raid Thwarted: On September 22, 2024, troops foiled a terrorist attempt to raid villages for supplies and logistics, neutralizing three assailants and recovering firearms, grenades, and other materials.
– Hostages Freed in Gwoza: Troops rescued 16 abducted victims, including 10 men and six women, after engaging terrorists in Uvaha village, Gwoza Local Government Area.
– Yobe State Ambush: Four terrorists were neutralized in Mazda and Azare villages, Gujba Local Government Area, with troops capturing AK-47 rifles and ammunition.
– Arms Supplier Captured in FCT: A terrorist collaborator was arrested in Kugbo, FCT, with 178 rounds of ammunition and ₦29,000 recovered.
