Baby Snatched: Woman Arrested for Theft at Nasarawa Naming Ceremony.
A woman in Nasarawa State, Nigeria, has been arrested for stealing a 7-day-old baby girl during a naming ceremony in Keffi. The suspect, Khadija Aliyu, had been pretending to be pregnant and took advantage of the ceremony to sneak into the house and steal the baby.
According to the police, Aliyu attended the ceremony and waited for the perfect moment to strike. While everyone was distracted, she quietly entered the house, picked up the sleeping baby, and hid her behind her back under a veil. She almost got away with it, but luckily, she was caught and arrested.
The police spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident, stating that Aliyu was arrested on September 28, 2024, at around 6:30 pm. This shocking incident highlights the importance of being vigilant, especially during public events.
