Nasrallah’s Successor Vows to Carry On Hezbollah’s Anti-Israel Resistance
Hezbollah Vows to Fight On After Israeli Strikes Kill Top Leaders.
In a defiant televised address, Hezbollah’s acting leader Naim Kassem pledged to continue resisting Israel, undeterred by the loss of top commanders, including Hassan Nasrallah, killed in Israeli strikes over the past 10 days.
“Hezbollah fighters stand ready to defend Lebanon against any Israeli ground offensive,” Kassem declared, as tensions escalate in the region.
The past week’s Israeli airstrikes have left a trail of devastation, claiming over 1,000 lives, including women and children, and displacing nearly a million people, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
Kassem downplayed Israel’s gains, insisting the strikes failed to cripple Hezbollah’s military capabilities. “We have deputy commanders and replacements in place, ensuring our continuity,” he said.
Monday’s airstrike in Beirut killed three Palestinian militants, further fueling tensions. Hezbollah, allied with Hamas, has launched rockets into northern Israel since the conflict began on October 7.
Israel’s intense airstrikes across Lebanon have intensified the year-long conflict. Hezbollah remains committed to supporting Palestinians.
White House national security spokesman John Kirby noted Israel’s strikes dismantled Hezbollah’s command structure, but warned of potential rebuilding efforts.
“Hezbollah’s leadership vacuum will be challenging to fill, and we’re closely monitoring their next moves,” Kirby said.
As the conflict rages on, concerns grow over regional stability and potential escalation.
