NDLEA Arrests Businesswoman, Auto Parts Dealer for Trafficking UK-Bound Opioids, Cocaine

NDLEA Cracks Down on Drug Trafficking: Arrests Businesswoman, Auto Parts Dealer.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made significant strides in its war against drug trafficking, arresting a businesswoman and an auto parts dealer for attempting to export opioids and cocaine to the UK and Congo Brazzaville.

In a statement released on Sunday, the agency revealed that its operatives in Oyo State apprehended Mrs. Adewunmi Adebola Dorcas, an Ibadan-based businesswoman, and Arinze Ora, an auto parts dealer, for their roles in the illicit trade.

The agency’s efforts led to the seizure of 924 bottles of codeine-based syrup and 5,250 tablets of rohypnol, hidden in cartons of foodstuffs, as well as 300 grams of cocaine concealed in containers of checkers powder custard.

Further investigation led to the arrest of two brothers, Ikechukwu Ikeabba and Ugochukwu Ikeabba, who sponsored drug traffickers specializing in exporting drugs by ingestion to Vietnam.

The NDLEA also arrested several other suspects, including Ibeanusi Solomon Nosike, who excreted 68 wraps of cocaine, and Paul Okwuy Mbadugha, who ingested 88 wraps of the illicit drug.

The agency’s Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the officers and men of the NDLEA for their operational successes, urging them to continue intensifying efforts to reduce drug supply and demand.
