NDLEA Nabs Community Leader’s Family Members Over Drug Offenses [Photos]
NDLEA Arrests Community Leader’s Family Members for Drug Trafficking.
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested two wives and a son of a community leader in Lagos. The community leader, Alhaji Bashir Mohammed Talba, Sarkin Yamma of Badagry West LCDA, is currently on the run.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the agency recovered a total of 226kg of cannabis from the trio. The arrests were made on Wednesday, September 18, during raids on two homes owned by Alhaji Talba.
Details of the Arrests:
– First Wife and Son: Asma’u Bashiru, 35, and Sadat Bashiru, 22, were found with 93 compressed blocks of cannabis sativa weighing 57.6kg in their Ashipa area residence.
– Second Wife: Hauwa Bashir, 42, was discovered with 302 compressed blocks of cannabis weighing 168.6kg in their Aketegbo area home.
The NDLEA’s swift action demonstrates its commitment to combating drug trafficking and holding perpetrators accountable, regardless of social status.
