NEMA Welcomes Home 180 Stranded Nigerians from Libya.
In a heartwarming turn of events, 180 Nigerians stranded in Libya have finally returned home, courtesy of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM). The returnees, comprising 67 females, 55 males, 42 children, and 16 infants, arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Wednesday, October 2, at 7:30 pm.
Upon arrival, the Nigerian Immigration Service conducted biometric profiling, while other government agencies provided humanitarian support to ensure the returnees’ basic needs were met.
Breakdown of Returnees:
– Adult Females:67
– Adult Males:55
– Female Children:24
– Male Children:18
– Infants: 16
This voluntary evacuation marks a significant effort by NEMA and IOM to bring home Nigerian nationals stranded in Libya. The returnees’ safe arrival brings relief to their families and loved ones.
