Nigerian Navy Enhances Operational Excellence with Commanding Officers’ Workshop
The Naval Doctrine Command (NAVDOC) recently hosted a two-day workshop for Commanding Officers of ships in the Eastern and Central Fleet at the Naval Training Command in Rivers State. The event, themed “Leadership and Operational Excellence: Empowering Commanding Officers for Effective Command,” aimed to address challenges faced by COs in maritime security operations.
The workshop, held from August 15-16, 2024, provided a platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem-solving. It was attended by top naval officials, including Rear Admirals Samson Burra, HD Zakaria, IM Albara, JN Mamman, KM Bushi, AO Ayo-Vaughan, and MA Muye.
The workshop is expected to become a regular event, enhancing the operational capabilities of COs and aligning with the Chief of Naval Staff’s vision of a highly professional and motivated naval force capable of shaping security outcomes in Nigeria’s maritime environment.
