NLTF Hails EFCC’s N9bn Recovery Feat, Commends Anti-Corruption Drive.

The National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) has praised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for recovering over N9 billion in debts owed to the Fund. NLTF’s Executive Secretary, Tosin Adeyanju, led a delegation to the EFCC headquarters on Friday, August 23, 2024, to commend the agency’s efforts.

Adeyanju described the recovery as a “big feat” that has enabled the Fund to support the federal government’s infrastructure development projects. He also commended EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, for his leadership and the agency’s anti-corruption achievements, including the recovery of over N200 billion and $58 million in looted funds within 10 months.

Olukoyede, in response, praised Adeyanju’s focus and determination, saying, “We see in you someone that is important that we collaborate with and strengthen our relationship.” He advised Adeyanju to be mindful of his legacy and ensure prudent application of funds.

The EFCC Chairman assured the NLTF of continued collaboration in debt recovery, stating that it is the agency’s statutory obligation to support government agencies.
