NYSC Announces Registration Window for Cybercafe Operators, August 19-24.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that its Cybercafe Business Operators (CBO) portal will open for registration from August 19 to 24, 2024. This move aims to accredit and regulate cybercafe operators providing online services to prospective and serving corps members.
According to the NYSC management, accredited CBOs will benefit from new business opportunities, partnership with NYSC, technical support, and periodic training. To register, interested operators must follow a six-step process, including uploading requisite documents and paying registration fees ranging from N5,000 to N20,000.
The NYSC has set guidelines to ensure sanity on its portal and has warned cybercafe operators not to charge more than N3,000 for services rendered to prospective corps members. This development is expected to enhance the online experience for corps members and promote a seamless registration process.
Registration Guidelines and Fees
To ensure a smooth registration process, the NYSC has outlined the following steps:
1. Register on the NYSC CBO website here ((https://nysccbo.org.ng/nyscbo/public/index.php)) and upload required documents.
2. Provisional registration will be issued pending premises inspection.
3. Premises inspection and document verification will be conducted.
4. Sign and submit the Cyber Café Operators Agreement.
5. Receive a certificate from NYSC upon accreditation.
6. Accredited CBOs will be monitored to ensure compliance.
Registration fees are as follows:
– Expression-of-Interest fee: N5,000
– New Registration fee: N20,000
– Annual Renewal of Accreditation fee: N18,000
_NYSC Warns Against Excessive Charges_
The NYSC has sternly warned cybercafe operators not to charge more than N3,000 for services rendered to prospective corps members. This move aims to protect corps members from exploitation and ensure a seamless registration process.

The registration window opens on August 19 and closes on August 24, 2024.
