Nigeria Police Force Introduces Digital Central Motor Registry: No More Roadside Checks.

The Nigeria Police Force has announced a game-changer for drivers – no more roadside checks for vehicle papers! Thanks to the digital Central Motor Registry Information System (e-CMR), officers can now verify documents in real-time.

 Benefits of e-CMR:

Convenience: No need to carry physical documents; all vehicle info is accessible digitally.
Security: Instantly flag stolen vehicles through your online profile, alerting officers nationwide .
Efficiency: Simplified vehicle-related services, such as ownership transfers, license renewals, and updates.
Recovery: Improved chances of swift recovery for stolen vehicles.

ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, shared this update on his X handle, highlighting the cutting-edge technology behind e-CMR. The digitalized system aims to modernize and digitize motor vehicle registration, enhancing the nation’s safety and security framework.

This move follows the IGP’s order in July 2024 to enforce the digitalized Central Motor Registry. With e-CMR, Nigeria is taking a significant step towards streamlined documentation and verification, making life easier for vehicle owners.
