Kidnapped Pastor and Daughter Plead for Help in Emotional Video.
Pastor Isa Andrew, Chaplain of the All Saints Police Protestant Church, and his 13-year-old daughter, Grace, have been held captive for nearly four weeks after being abducted from their home in Gusau, Zamfara State, on July 14, 2024. In a heart-wrenching video, Pastor Andrew appeals to Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, and other compassionate individuals to intervene and secure their release by meeting the terrorists’ demands.
The kidnappers are demanding N6 million, two boxer motorcycles, and one Honda motorcycle, to be delivered between Saturday and Thursday, threatening to marry off Grace if their demands are not met. Despite already paying N6 million in ransom, the kidnappers are insisting on additional payment and motorcycles before releasing the duo.
Pastor Andrew, who suffers from diabetes, fears for his health and reveals that Grace has been mistreated during their captivity. He urges Nigerians to help raise the ransom, having already sold everything they own and received help from kind individuals. The initial demand was N60 million, but his wife negotiated it down to N6 millionhe emotional plea has sparked widespread concern and calls for action. Many are urging the authorities to step in and ensure the safe release of Pastor Andrew and his daughter. The video has gone viral, and Nigerians are rallying around the family, offering support and prayers.
The kidnapping highlights the growing concern of insecurity in the region, with many calling for increased efforts to tackle the menace. Pastor Andrew’s health condition and his daughter’s mistreatment have added urgency to the situation, and all eyes are on the authorities to ensure their prompt release.
As the deadline set by the kidnappers draws near, the family and friends of Pastor Andrew are anxiously waiting for a resolution. The incident has once again brought to the fore the need for collective action against kidnapping and terrorism in the country.
