Police Investigate Kidnapping of Medical Students by Gunmen in Benue
20 Medical Students Kidnapped in Benue.
A devastating incident has unfolded in Benue State, where at least 20 medical students from the University of Jos were kidnapped in Otukpo on Thursday evening. According to Sewuese Anene, Benue Police Public Relations Officer, the students were ambushed and taken captive at 5:30 pm while en route to Enugu for their annual convention.
In an exclusive telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, Anene confirmed that an investigation is underway to rescue the abducted students and apprehend the perpetrators. However, she noted that no additional information was available at the time of filing this report.
The kidnapping incident has sent shockwaves through the academic community, and concerns are mounting about the safety and well-being of the abducted students. The police are working tirelessly to ensure their safe return and bring the culprits to justice.
