Kano Police Launch Crackdown on Criminal Hideouts, Arrest 41 Suspects.

In a significant breakthrough, the Kano State Police Command has arrested 41 suspects and seized dangerous weapons and intoxicating drugs in a series of raids on criminal hideouts across the state.

According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the operation was part of efforts to combat crime and ensure public safety.

The raids, conducted in response to public outcry, targeted black spots and criminal enclaves in Kano Metropolis, resulting in the recovery of dangerous weapons and intoxicating drugs. Investigations are ongoing.

The police command attributed the success to the Inspector-General of Police’s directive on intelligence-led policing and the cooperation of law-abiding citizens. Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, assured the public of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and properties.
