Single Status Inquiry Turns Deadly: Man Kills Neighbour Who Asked One Too Many Times
A tragic incident occurred when Assistant Police Commissioner Maria Marpaung reported that Asgim Irianto was fatally attacked by his neighbor, Parlindungan Siregar. The motive behind the attack was allegedly Siregar’s growing frustration with Irianto’s persistent questioning about his single status.
According to Irianto’s wife, Siregar arrived at their home armed with a piece of wood and suddenly attacked Irianto. Despite Irianto attempting to flee, Siregar pursued him and delivered a fatal blow to his head. The assault continued until other residents intervened.
Irianto was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries en route. Siregar was promptly arrested, and authorities believe that the attack was motivated by Siregar’s irritation over Irianto’s repeated inquiries about his marital status. The investigation is ongoing.
