Nigerian Air Force Airstrikes Decimate Terrorist Stronghold, 28 Insurgents Killed.
In a precision operation, Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircrafts launched airstrikes on a terrorist enclave in the Bassa community, Shiroro local government area of Niger State, neutralizing 28a insurgents on Wednesday, September 11.
According to Group Captain Kabiru Ali, Deputy Director of Information and Public Relations, the NAF responded to a request for air support from ground forces, engaging the terrorists in a fierce battle. Upon arrival, NAF air assets observed over 100 terrorists clashing with friendly forces, prompting precision airstrikes on the insurgents’ positions.
The airstrikes proved devastating, with successive passes neutralizing dozens of terrorists. As of the latest report, 28 bodies have been recovered from the target area, with additional terrorists, weapons, and burnt motorcycles still being cleared.
The NAF has reassured its commitment to conducting air operations, both independently and in collaboration with surface forces, to eliminate all threats to the country’s peace, prosperity, and security.
