The End of Banditry is Near, Says Top Customs Official

Nigeria Customs Service Vows to Eradicate Banditry.

Assistant Controller General Sambo Dangaladima of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Zone ‘B’ Kaduna has expressed optimism that banditry will soon be a thing of the past. Dangaladima made this declaration during a visit to the Katsina Area Command, where he addressed officers and men, emphasizing the importance of security consciousness.

The NCS official urged personnel to remain vigilant, especially during patrols, and to collect all due duties from the federal government. He also stressed the need for collaboration, innovation, and stakeholder relationships in achieving success.

Dangaladima commended the personnel’s hard work and determination, acknowledging the challenges of working in a volatile environment like Katsina. He called on operatives to support the Controller’s efforts, emphasizing that success in the department translates to success for the country.

The NCS has been working to prevent the influx of contraband goods and small arms that may end up in the hands of bandits and other criminals. Dangaladima’s visit to Katsina aligns with the policy thrust of NCS Controller General Adewale Adeniyi, focusing on consolidation, collaboration, and innovation.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with banditry, the NCS’s commitment to eradicating this menace is a welcome development. With renewed efforts and cooperation among stakeholders, the country may soon see an end to this persistent threat.
